Built in the 13th century by Gailhard du Puch, this chateau passed by marriage in 1572 into the Ségur Family, who owned it for more than two centuries.

The Lalande de Pomerol AOC area, which is a neighbour of Pomerol and Saint Emilion, lies a few kilometres to the north of Libourne and covers the communes of Lalande de Pomerol and Néac.
